Dear Dr. G:I have been prescribed Celebrex (celecoxib) because of the pain and the swelling it caused during arthritis flare-ups. I have had severe side-effects from the medication, including my heart palpitations. I have had other health issues, such as a kidney infection, an asthma attack, and severe dizziness. My doctor recommended Celebrex for this, but I am a little bit concerned. Do you think there is a risk?
I am a 65-year-old woman, and I am currently experiencing a painful heart attack. I am taking Celebrex for the past month, but I am concerned that the pain I have been experiencing has been a side effect of my arthritis. I had high blood pressure before the heart attack, but it has been manageable. The blood pressure has been stable for a while, but has decreased slightly. I am taking a low dose of Celebrex (400 mg) and I am worried about the risk of my blood pressure going down, and the risk of side effects. Do you have other thoughts?
I have been taking Celebrex for a long time, but my heart is not that bad. I have had no other side effects, although I am not suicidal. I am doing well with all my blood pressure, but the blood pressure is actually down for a few weeks. I am concerned about the possibility of my blood pressure going back to normal, especially since I have taken 200 mg of Celebrex a month. Do you think the blood pressure is being kept down or the side effects are too much?
I am worried about the risk of my blood pressure getting too high, and the risk of my heart going up in a few weeks. Do you have any advice on what to do?
I am not sure whether this is a good thing, but I am also concerned about the potential for side effects, particularly with the high blood pressure and the kidney problems. The patient has had a heart attack in the past year, and she is taking a lower dose of Celebrex. I am concerned that the risk of these side effects could be increased because of Celebrex use. Do you think the blood pressure is being kept down or is the side effects too much?
